Getting ready for your kitten

A little preparation makes the move easier. Use this checklist to plan ahead, and ask Natalia about the routines your kitten already knows.

Plan the handover

Confirm the date and arrangements with Natalia before making travel plans. Pickup is available in Wasilla. Meeting at, or bringing your kitten to, Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport and air cargo transport can be discussed individually.

Transportation is arranged in advance and quoted separately from the kitten's price. Read the pickup and delivery details.

Prepare a comfortable space

• A secure carrier suitable for the agreed journey.
• A quiet place to rest, with a comfortable bed or blanket.
• Food and water bowls, a litter box and litter.
• A scratching post and kitten-appropriate toys.

Check windows, doors and access to small objects, cords, cleaning products and other household hazards before your kitten arrives.

Ask about familiar routines

Before pickup, ask what your kitten currently eats, which litter is familiar and what their everyday routine is like. Discuss any specific supplies you plan to buy so you can prepare for this kitten.

Know what comes with your kitten

Your kitten comes with the agreed documents and a starter supply of familiar food, a toy and a small gift. The purchase agreement explains the registration arrangements and limited health coverage.

Allow time to settle in

Start with a calm space where your kitten can become familiar with the new home. Let them explore at their own pace, and introduce new people and other pets gradually with supervision.
